Dear Parents,
We
have started our work with electric circuits. We explored simple
circuits this week and have done a few experiments with batteries and
light bulbs both small and household size. The children are very
excited and curious about this unit. Ask them about it! Thank you for
facilitating the return of your child’s electricity project. If it is
not already here in the classroom, it needs to be returned to school by
Tuesday January 20th.
We
are making great progress in our math Unit 2.2 on multiplication. We
have explored the partial products method using open arrays. Please
encourage your child to practice their multiplication tables with flash
cards or on the computer using multiplication.com or freerice.com.
During
reading we are focused on RI history. Students are working towards
gaining information in research teams and creating their own non-fiction
text together, with each member writing their own text on a subtopic.
This unit integrates technology, social studies, and writing! We are
having so much fun!
