Wakefield School is a very special learning community.   The dedication and professionalism of every staff member is to be commended.  Our students strive to become proficient and competent in all areas of the curriculum .  Our classroom environments foster opportunities for students to be independent thinkers while working collaboratively to solve problems and build competencies in reading, writing, math, science and social studies.  Our students also have wonderful learning experiences in library, physical education, art, music, strings and chorus.  We are always working to help students develop friendships and to know what it means to be a good friend. We consistently recognize positive behavior and seek to provide feedback in all situations in order to reinforce expectations.  Our R.O.C. Assemblies celebrate students' effort and enthusiasm for learning and recognize classrooms for their accomplishments.  In addition, our work with the Olweus Bully Prevention curriculum, teaches our students and staff to recognize acts of bullying in order to prevent bullying behavior from happening throughout our school community.  Our PTO is a welcoming and active group of parents and teachers who are always looking for volunteers to support their efforts in providing students with resources and experiences to enrich their educational program.  Please consider attending our monthly meetings and volunteering your time and talents when you can.
It is my privilege to be a part of this wonderful school community.
