Parent Communication
Thank you to all of the parents that signed up for Parent Teacher Conferences. I was able to gather valuable information about your child which will help me create the optimal learning environment.

Dear Parents,
We have been continuing our study of Rhode Island and the role our state played in the American Revolution. We have completed Chapter 6 in "The Pewter Plate". The children have worked with the new vocabulary and answered some general comprehension questions which tap into their "inner converstion" and the development of the main characters. By focusing on specific vocabulary and character development we are attaining a deeper understanding of the text.
In Science we have started our electric houses. The students will work in groups of three to build a house that will have three lightbulbs to light it. They will bring objects from home to decorate their houses.
In Math we are finishing up Unit 5 and our work with double digit multiplcation. We will soon begin Unit 6 which includes long division. as I have noted repeatedly, memorization of multilication tables is necessary.
Sincerely, Deborah Masciarelli
This is a photograph of a private kindergarten class in the village of Gezaloule near Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, Africa. This summer I was lucky to be able to visit this school and a few others and to meet some of the teachers. It was a very enlightening and eye-opening experience. My students will hear many stories about the way of life in Africa. We will be exchanging letters with students from a school in Moshi,Tanzania. |
